The Rivers House of Assembly has confirmed nine commissioner nominees designated for reinstatement, with a unique exemption from the typical screening process.
During Wednesday’s plenary at the temporary chambers of the assembly residential quarters, the nominees, including Zacchaeus Adangor (SAN), Mr. Jacobson Mbina, and others, were requested to “take a bow and leave.”
The confirmation followed a letter from Governor Siminalayi Fubara, dated Dec. 11, 2023, seeking the screening and confirmation of the nominees who resigned during a political crisis.
The motion to permit a streamlined process for the nominees was unanimously supported by all 22 legislators present.
