The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola, has been cleared of allegations that he had a secret meeting with President-elect, Bola Tinubu, in London.
Reports had surfaced claiming that the CJN disguised himself in a wheelchair and was wheeled into an airplane to London to meet with Tinubu.
However, the Supreme Court’s spokesperson, Festus Akande, debunked the reports, stating that the CJN had only traveled to London for medical care and not to meet with Tinubu.
Akande revealed that the CJN had traveled with NJC’s Secretary, Gambo Saleh, and was back in Nigeria by March 23.
Pictures of the CJN dressed in Ankara print and a cap to match attending Jumat prayers in Abuja surfaced online, further confirming that he had not left the country to meet with Tinubu.
