President Bola Tinubu returned to Nigeria on Saturday after participating in the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) alongside some members of his cabinet.
During the summit, Nigeria signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), aimed at strengthening economic ties between both countries.
The agreement is expected to boost bilateral trade and investment, promote technology transfer and expand cooperation in key sectors such as energy, infrastructure, agriculture, mining and renewable energy.
Speaking at the event, Tinubu announced that a joint Nigeria-UAE INVESTOPIA conference would be held in Lagos in February to attract global investors.
The president also disclosed that Nigeria plans to mobilise up to $30 billion annually in climate and green industrial finance as part of efforts to accelerate energy transition reforms and expand electricity access nationwide.
