Senator Dino Melaye, a former lawmaker from Kogi West, has lost the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket to Hon. T.J Yusuf, a member of the House of Representatives.
In the Kogi West PDP Senatorial primary election, Dino Melaye received 88 votes while TJ Yusuf received 88 votes, resulting in a rerun election on Tuesday.
Hon. T. J. Yusuf won the PDP ticket in a rerun election on Tuesday, defeating Sen. Dino Melaye by 163 votes to 99.
Yusuf extended an olive branch to his co-contestants after being declared the winner, urging them to join forces with him to win the general election.
He commended the peaceful conduct of the primaries, promising to continue with his good work if elected at the general election.
