Two students of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, identified as Bilikisu Eleojo and Ibrahim Haliru, have lost their lives after inhaling fumes from a power-generating set placed near the window of their apartment overnight. According to the state police public relations officer, SP William Ovye Aya, the victims slept with the generator running close to their window, resulting in carbon monoxide inhalation.

The incident is a grim reminder of the dangers associated with improper use of generators and the importance of safety precautions, such as proper ventilation and placement of generators, to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning. Authorities have urged residents to be safety-conscious to avoid such tragic incidents.
