It was a heartbreaking day in Uga, Aguata Local Government Area, Anambra State, as the bodies of three young siblings — Chikaima Ejezie (9), Chimziterem Ejezie (8), and Chimdirim Ejezie (5) — were laid to rest in an emotional ceremony.

The tragic incident happened on February 1, 2025, in Nnewichi, Nnewi North Local Government Area. Unknown attackers broke into the children’s home while their mother was away for an exam. Shockingly, the children’s lifeless bodies were found in a freezer after the killers fled the scene.

The burial was held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Umueze Uga, attended by over 30 priests, local leaders, and grieving community members. Cardinal Ebere Okpalaeke, the Archbishop of Ekwulobia Diocese, led the service. He condemned the crime, likening it to the biblical story of Cain and Abel, and warned that those behind it would face divine justice.

The children’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Udochukwu Ejezie, described the loss as their worst nightmare. They thanked the community for their support and called on the authorities to step up efforts to find the killers and prevent similar tragedies.

This brutal act has shaken the community and increased calls for better security to protect vulnerable families from such violence.
