Sabri Lamouchi has been sacked as Tunisia manager after just one match at the World Cup, following a heavy 5-1 defeat to Sweden that left the North African side’s campaign in early turmoil.

The decision reportedly came swiftly after the opening game in Monterrey, where Tunisia were outclassed by a dominant Swedish side that punished defensive errors throughout the match.

The result triggered immediate backlash from supporters and heightened pressure on the technical leadership, with officials acting to end Lamouchi’s tenure almost immediately after the loss.

The Tunisia national football team now faces the challenge of reorganising its technical bench mid-tournament, with internal discussions underway on who will take charge for the remaining group-stage fixtures.

The dismissal marks a dramatic start to Tunisia’s World Cup campaign, which has already been shaken by the heavy opening defeat and growing concerns over team structure and performance.
