Peter Obi, Labour Party Presidential Candidate in the 2023 election, has expressed profound sadness over the passing of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, whom he referred to as his younger brother.

Obi took to his X handle to share his shock and sorrow, recalling their last meeting on July 12 in Nnewi at a burial where Ubah welcomed him warmly. Ubah had requested Obi visit his home for lunch, but Obi had to reschedule due to prior engagements.

In his statement, Obi highlighted their discussion about the nation’s state and Ubah’s commitment to humanitarian causes. He praised Ubah for his work through the Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation, which focused on education, health, and poverty alleviation.

“May God Almighty who called him home, at this time, forgive his sins and grant him eternal rest,” Obi wrote, extending his condolences to Ubah’s family and the entire Anambra South community.
