Nigeria’s Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, abruptly halted an event in Abuja, accusing the organiser of impersonation. The International Centre for Investigative Reporting (ICIR) shared a video of the minister confronting the organiser, Mela-Chiyoma PAT Limited, and declaring the event cancelled. Kennedy-Ohanenye criticized the organiser for misusing the ministry’s name and claimed that the President was displeased with the situation. The event, focusing on women and food security, was disrupted due to the alleged misuse of official authority.
