Idi Hong, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) agent at the collation centre of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Adamawa, has demanded the arrest of Hudu, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, following the declaration of Senator Aisha Dahiru as the winner of the 2023 gubernatorial poll.
Hong accused the REC of lacking the authority to make such an announcement and causing unnecessary controversy.
The announcement was made while results from 10 out of 20 Local Government Areas were still pending, and the returning officer was not present, leading to confusion among stakeholders.
The pending results are from Madagali, Michika, Mubi North, Mubi South, Gombi, Toungo, Numan, Mayo Belwa, Guyuk, and Girei.
