Umuahia, Abia State – The Organising Committee for the upcoming ‘Abia State Re-dedication and Dr Alex Otti’s Thanksgiving Service’ has announced a week-long prayer, fasting, and thanksgiving initiative in the state.

In a statement released to the press on Sunday in Umuahia, Mr Uzor Nwachukwu and Mr Bertrand Okeomah, Chairman and Secretary of the committee respectively, shared the details of the program.

The committee revealed that the event is part of the scheduled activities to mark the inauguration of Dr Alex Otti as the 10th Governor of Abia, set to take place on May 29.

The spiritual cleansing is slated to commence with prayer and fasting on Sunday, May 21, and will conclude on Friday, May 26.

The committee emphasized that the purpose of this event is to usher in a new era of spirituality.

The program will culminate in a “Re-dedication Retreat” at the Ngwa High School in Aba on May 27. Notably, the Christian Association of Nigeria’s leadership in the state has expressed support for this initiative.

Furthermore, a post-inauguration state Thanksgiving Service is scheduled to be held on Sunday, June 4, at the Umuahia Township Stadium at noon.

The Abia State chapter of CAN has called upon all member churches in the state to participate in the prayer and fasting sessions.

In a statement issued by the Secretary of CAN, Dr Mgbeahuru Okey, it was revealed that the directive was issued by the state Chairman, His Eminence, Dr Emmanuel Agomoh.

The CAN statement concluded with an appeal to join hands in this significant endeavor for a new Abia that aligns with the collective aspirations of the people.
