National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Sen. David Mark, has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to uphold impartiality and transparency in Saturday’s by-elections across the country.
In a statement issued by his media adviser, Paul Mumeh, Mark said a credible process would help restore public trust in Nigeria’s electoral system.
The ADC is fielding candidates for Senatorial, House of Representatives, and State Assembly polls in Anambra, Edo, Oyo, Taraba, Adamawa, Kaduna, Zamfara, Kano, Niger, and Ogun states.
Calling the ADC a “child of necessity” created to offer Nigerians better governance, Mark appealed to voters to give the party a chance. He warned INEC that “all eyes are on the commission” to correct past mistakes that have damaged its image.
He also urged security agencies to ensure a level playing field, while commending ADC candidates for their courage and urging them to remain law-abiding but vigilant against manipulation or intimidation.
