A Lagos high court sitting at Tafawa Balewa Square has convicted Danish national Peter Nielsen of murdering his wife and daughter.
Nielsen was arraigned in court on a two-count murder charge by the state government on June 13, 2018. The offense violates Section 223 of the Lagos Criminal Laws of 2015.
On April 5, 2018, at around 3.45 a.m., he allegedly killed his wife, Zainab, also known by her stage name Alizee, and his three-and-a-half-year-old daughter at their Banana Island residence in the Ikoyi area of Lagos.
The presiding judge, Bolanle Okikiolu-Ighile, sentenced Nielsen to death by hanging on both counts on Friday.
