In a ceremony held on Wednesday in Lokoja, Kogi State, Dino Melaye was presented as the flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party for the November 11 gubernatorial election in the state.

The event was attended by party leaders from all three senatorial districts in the state.

Melaye, a two-term senator representing Kogi West, expressed his gratitude to party members for their confidence in him and promised not to disappoint them if elected.

He highlighted Kogi’s untapped mineral resources and stated his commitment to attracting investment to the state.

Ex-governor Ibrahim Idris also spoke at the event, urging party members to support Melaye, whom he described as a formidable personality capable of bringing the state out of the economic challenges it has faced in recent years.

The upcoming election in Kogi State is expected to be fiercely contested, with the ruling All Progressives Congress also expected to field a strong candidate.
