Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has urged Christians across Nigeria to use the Easter season as a moment for personal and national rededication to integrity and the fight against corruption.
Speaking in Abuja on Saturday, Olukoyede said Easter—a season that commemorates the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ—offers a profound message of renewal and restoration, values he believes are crucial in Nigeria’s fight against graft.
“Easter offers an opportunity for revival and restoration,” Olukoyede said. “May this season inspire in us a renewed commitment to integrity, transparency, and the higher ideals necessary for national development.”
He encouraged Nigerians to draw strength from Christ’s sacrifice and apply those lessons to the ongoing effort to rebuild the nation. “Rebuilding our country is a collective responsibility. It demands commitment and sacrifice from all Nigerians, regardless of background or belief,” he added.
Olukoyede also expressed support for President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, saying it resonates with the Christian message of resurrection and national revival.
Reaffirming the EFCC’s commitment to combating financial crimes, he called on all stakeholders to stay the course. “We have put our hands on the plough—we cannot afford to look back,” he said.
His remarks come as the anti-corruption agency continues to pursue high-profile cases amid growing calls for transparency and reform in public service.
