The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has pledged to lead a comprehensive anti-corruption campaign that will leave no stone unturned in addressing all forms of economic and financial crimes.

In a statement released by EFCC spokesperson Mr. Dele Oyewale on Monday in Abuja, Olukoyede reiterated his commitment to a broad-based approach in the fight against corruption. Speaking at an Anti-Corruption Concert in Abuja aimed at raising awareness and public engagement in combating internet crimes, Olukoyede emphasized the agency’s determination to tackle corrupt practices at all levels.

We will not show leniency to anyone, including high-profile offenders. Our efforts are not solely focused on internet fraudsters; we are equally targeting all forms of economic and financial crimes,” he affirmed.

Olukoyede cautioned youths against involvement in internet-related offenses, highlighting the severe consequences of conviction, including limitations on future career prospects and public stigma.

To the youth, I urge you to steer clear of internet crimes. Your future is at stake, and the repercussions of engaging in such activities are far-reaching,” he warned.

Under his leadership, Olukoyede revealed plans to establish a Cyber Crime Research Centre within the EFCC’s New Academy, aimed at engaging youth in research and productive activities related to cybercrime.

The center will provide opportunities for youth to channel their energies into meaningful endeavors,” he explained.

Emphasizing the value of hard work and integrity, Olukoyede urged all stakeholders to join hands in the fight against corruption.

There is dignity in honest labor. Let us unite in the fight against corruption and uphold the values of hard work and integrity,” he urged.

Echoing Olukoyede’s sentiments, the Minister of State for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, called on young people across Nigeria to support EFCC’s anti-corruption efforts and contribute to shaping a better future for the nation.

We must collectively stand against corruption and work towards building a prosperous Nigeria. Every one of us has a role to play in this fight,” Olawande emphasized.
