Eyotech Nigeria Limited, a prominent filling station in the Oron Local Government area of the state, became the site of a harrowing incident as reported by witnesses.
The station’s owner, identified as Edet, was reportedly ambushed by unknown assailants and forcibly taken away in a Sienna car.
Alarming details emerged as the abductors swiftly transported their captives to a waiting speed boat.
To cover their tracks, the criminals set fire to the Sienna vehicle they had arrived in, leaving it engulfed in flames.
Responding to the distressing situation, Commissioner of Police, CP Olatoye Durosinmi, wasted no time in visiting the scene.
He expressed his deep concern over the incident and promptly ordered a thorough investigation into the matter.
In an official statement, CP Durosinmi affirmed, “Upon receiving the information, I personally inspected the scene of the incident and even ventured to the waterfront where the Sienna used in the act was recovered. Our investigative efforts are already underway, and I assure the public that the perpetrators will be apprehended and brought to justice expeditiously.“
