The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has refuted claims of an alleged kidnapping incident at River Park Estate, Abuja.
In a statement, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, clarified that the reported incident was fake news.
The statement revealed that an individual named Nnandi Agu from Games Village had staged his own kidnapping in an attempt to defraud his brother residing in the said estate.
The suspect is currently in police custody, undergoing interrogation, and further updates will be communicated as the investigation progresses.
