In a significant development, Dr. Ramon Adedoyin, a well-known hotel owner, has been pronounced guilty in the murder case of Timothy Adegoke, a former master’s degree student at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

The tragic incident took place between November 5 and 7, 2021, at Hilton Honours Hotel in Ile-Ife.

EyewitnessMedia has learned that the Chief Judge of Osun State, Adepele Ojo, delivered the verdict, stating that the available circumstantial evidence strongly indicated Adegoke’s killing during his stay as a guest at Adedoyin’s hotel.

The decision of Adedoyin to abstain from testifying in court worked against him, as the circumstantial evidence shifted the burden of proof onto him, as per the judge’s remarks.

Additionally, two of Adedoyin’s staff members, Adeniyi Aderogba and Kazeem Oyetunde, were sentenced for the same offense.

However, Justice Adepele Ojo acquitted and discharged three other hotel staff members.

The seventh defendant’s sentencing will be determined on Wednesday, following pleas made by counsels from both the prosecution and defense.
