The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu, has dismissed his suspension by the Benue State chapter of the party, describing it as a “mischief, drama, and propaganda” exercise.

Ayu, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Simon Imobo-Tswam, said that the PDP constitution expressly prohibits any organ of the party or executive committee at ward, state, or national level from taking any disciplinary measure against any member of the National Executive Committee, therefore only the NEC can suspend him.

He added that some members of the executives were only being “teleguided by political gamblers to cause mischief and nothing more.”

Ayu advised the public to ignore the rumours and insisted that he had not been suspended by his ward.
