In Imo State, it has been reported that three members of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps were allegedly killed by unknown gunmen.
The incident happened at EkeIsu market in Obiangwu Community located in the Ngor Okpala Local Government Area, and it has caused panic among the residents of the community.
According to an anonymous source from the community, the security personnel were ambushed while riding in a vehicle in the early hours of Monday.
The bodies of the victims were reportedly still at the scene when the report was filed. Security operatives have since taken over the community to restore order.
The police spokesperson in the state, Henry Okoye, confirmed the incident and assured the public that a statement on the matter would be released soon.
