Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has urged protesters participating in the #EndBadGovernance demonstrations to end their activities due to credible threats from hoodlums intending to disrupt the peace in Jos. In a state-wide broadcast on Tuesday, Governor Mutfwang emphasized that while the protests have been peaceful and constitutional, there are indications that outsiders may infiltrate the movement to incite violence.

He expressed gratitude for the citizens’ conduct during the protests and highlighted the efforts his administration is making to address the current hardships, including initiatives in public transportation, agriculture, health, and education. Mutfwang assured that his government is committed to ensuring no one in the state goes hungry or is deprived of education or healthcare due to financial constraints.

The governor also detailed ongoing efforts, such as distributing fertilizers, providing financial support to small businesses, and investing in technology to combat insecurity and poverty. He urged the protesters to cease further demonstrations and engage in dialogue, warning of the potential for the protests to be hijacked by criminals.

Governor Mutfwang thanked traditional, community, and religious leaders, as well as civil society organizations, for their efforts in maintaining peace and encouraged them to continue working towards restoring normalcy in the state.
