Police in Lagos State have arrested two men for alleged cultism and unlawful possession of a firearm.
The suspects, aged 34 and 35, were detained on July 11 in the Alaba-Rago area of Ojo following a tip-off, police spokesperson CSP Benjamin Hundeyin said in a statement on Thursday.
Hundeyin said officers recovered a semi-automatic pistol from the men, adding that preliminary investigations indicated they belong to a local cult group.
“The suspects are assisting with information to identify other members and recover additional weapons,” he said.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
