Detectives from the Oko-Oba Police Division in Lagos have rescued a two-month-old baby stolen during a naming ceremony organized by the new “parents.”

The biological mother reported that one Gloria Sunday had absconded with her son on July 11, 2024. Acting on this report, police arrested Sunday, who confessed to selling the baby for ₦500,000 to Pastor Peter Udoh. Udoh then resold the child for ₦1,450,000 to Loretta Nelson, who in turn sold the baby for ₦2,350,000.

The baby was finally traced to Mr. and Mrs. James Uwam, who were arrested during the naming ceremony. All suspects, including the pastor, are now in custody and will be arraigned in court after the investigation concludes.
