Former Arewa Consultative Forum Secretary General Anthony Sani and rights lawyer Abdul Mahmud have criticized the House of Representatives’ decision to shelve an investigation into N15 trillion in unaccounted funds held by the Federal Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC).
The motion, brought by Bauchi lawmaker Mansur Soro, highlighted alleged breaches of constitutional provisions regarding the distribution of federal revenue to state and local governments. Critics argue that withholding such a vast sum amid economic hardship undermines transparency and accountability, risking public trust and deepening financial struggles for states and local councils.
