At least seven people were injured on Monday after two trucks collided in the Agric area of Ogbomosho, Oyo State.
The state fire service said the crash occurred around 1:15 p.m. at Arinkinkin, when a truck carrying unidentified chemicals burst into flames following the collision.
Fire service chairman Morouf Akinwande said officers, led by CFM Oladejo Kola, responded swiftly to contain the blaze. “Our officers curtailed the fire from spreading to the truck loaded with grains,” he said.
The fire was fully extinguished, with damage limited to the chemical-laden vehicle. Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) evacuated the seven injured victims to Bowen Teaching Hospital, where they are receiving treatment for minor injuries.
Normal traffic flow has since been restored to the area, authorities confirmed.
