Lagos, Nigeria – The Nigeria Police Force Criminal Investigation Department in Alagbon, Ikoyi, Lagos, has announced the arrest of several individuals in connection with an alleged attempt to kidnap popular musician Tiwa Savage.
CSP Oluniyi Ogundeyi, spokesperson for the department, confirmed the arrests to reporters on Saturday in Lagos.
Reports of the attempted kidnapping surfaced on social media on Friday, with sources indicating that Savage’s private security and the Nigerian police intervened to thwart the plot.
The failed scheme was allegedly orchestrated by one of Savage’s new domestic staff, who had been entrusted with sensitive information about the singer.
The staff member reportedly trailed Savage from her home and shared details with other members of the alleged kidnapping gang.
“We have some suspects in custody, totaling about four,” stated the department’s spokesperson.
