The Gambia has successfully submitted its tariff offers under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) framework through ECOWAS, Permanent Secretary of Trade Mod Secka announced.
Speaking at the AfCFTA National Implementation Committee meeting in Kololi, Secka highlighted efforts to align customs procedures and upgrade trade infrastructure. The country has committed to key service sectors, including finance and tourism, and developed a 10-year national strategy to enhance market access, industrialization, and job creation.
Secka acknowledged challenges, including limited awareness of AfCFTA provisions and capacity constraints, and emphasized the need for public engagement and strategic partnerships.
