President-elect, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, refuses to refund cost of flyovers built on federal government’s road by Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
Speaking during the commissioning of the 12th flyover constructed by Gov. Wike in Port Harcourt on Wednesday,
Tinubu made it clear that he owed the governor nothing, and that the roads were being used by the people of Rivers State.
In response to Governor Wike’s appeal for a refund of the project’s cost, Tinubu said, “You can’t chuckle at me and make a demand. You have to lobby me.”
He went on to state that he would not be refunding any money for the flyovers built by the governor.
The governor had earlier requested that the incoming governor, Siminialaye Fubara, refund the cost of the projects done on the federal government’s road.
However, Tinubu’s response suggests that he has no intention of fulfilling this request.
