Armed hoodlums, suspected to be kidnappers, struck again in Enugu State, claiming the life of an unidentified man while abducting his wife and daughter during a family trip. The incident occurred on March 10 along Afa/Egede Road in Udi LGA.

Enugu State Police spokesman, Daniel Ndukwe, confirmed the tragic event and stated that efforts to apprehend the perpetrators and rescue the kidnapped victims are underway.

The rising insecurity in Nigeria has seen a surge in attacks by terrorists, bandits, armed men, herdsmen, armed robbers, and unknown assailants across the nation. Security forces have been engaged in ongoing operations to curb these incidents.

In a disturbing revelation, recently freed kidnapping victims disclosed that kidnappers deploy poisonous snakes to instill fear. The victims recounted being thrown into snake-infested areas, exploiting the innate fear of snakes to coerce families into paying hefty ransoms. The use of such tactics further underscores the challenges faced in addressing the complex issue of insecurity in the country.
