Bandits have abducted the District Head of Kasuwar Daji in the Kaura-Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Ibrahim Sarkin Fada, from his residence on Thursday morning.

According to eyewitnesses, a large number of bandits attacked Kasuwar Daji village and took the village chief to their camp after firing numerous gunshots to frighten the villagers who attempted to rescue their chief.

Security agents have yet to comment on the matter as of this report.

 

Meanwhile, the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been hit by a post-election crisis, with the State Working Committee suspending the Chairman, Hon. Phillips Aivoji, and Deputy Chairman, Hon. Benedict Felix Tai.

The suspension was one of the resolutions reached at the April 25, 2023 meeting, according to the state publicity secretary, the Honourable Hakeem Amode.

The suspended chairman and deputy will resign pending the outcome of a pending legal action against them.

The Vice Chairman of the West Senatorial District, the Honourable Sunday Olaifa, will act as chairman pending the outcome of the court case.

In addition, a seven-member disciplinary committee has been established, which will report back to the State Working Committee within one week, according to a statement by the party.
