The Nasarawa State Police Command successfully rescues Mr. Isaac Igbawua, a lecturer at Nasarawa State University, Keffi, from his abductors.
Gunmen had invaded the lecturer’s residence in Kokona LGA, leading to an immediate and intensive manhunt ordered by Commissioner of Police Umar Nadada. The rescue operation, in collaboration with a vigilante group, took place in Ogba Village, Nasarawa-Eggon LGA, where the abductors were repelled after opening fire.
Mr. Igbawua was safely reunited with his family following a medical examination at the Police Clinic, Lafia.
Additionally, the police arrest a suspected notorious criminal and second-year student at the Federal University of Lafia, recovering a locally-fabricated Beretta pistol, live ammunition, and charms during a search of the student’s residence.
